About Me

About Me

Hi, I’m Shawny.  You are clearly wondering who the hell I am since you clicked on the “About me” tab of my blog.  The resume version is that I am married with two wonderful kids and I used to work full time in finance, hence the clever blog name that I’m estimating 35% of people might get.  Now, I’m a realtor and I’d love to help you buy a home in my hometown of Coeur d’Alene, ID.

I have a bazillion cookbooks and my goal is to cook through many (all?) of them and give you my honest recommendation on whether I think you should buy them or not.  Why should you take my recommendation?  Well it’s certainly not because I’m a professional chef or really know that much about cooking (see above to the part that I work in finance).    It’s because you should always believe everything you read on the internet.

I am passionate about many things, the biggest being cooking, travel, gardening and my hot husband.  I’ll probably steer clear of blogging about my hot husband because that’s content for my other, anonymous blog, but expect to find me chatting you up about my other passions.  I am constantly struggling to find the balance between being a full time working mother and putting healthy meals on the table every night.  Because that shit’s basically impossible, you will likely find us at the great sports bar down the street for dinner about once a week.  Aside from that though, I hope to give you some insight into many of the cookbooks you’ve been eyeing over the years, a couple of the recipes we have in our house and a few of the tips and tricks I use to manage my menu and budgeting.
